Going Solo

Early one morning just as the sun was rising……… tra la, I trod the light fantastic down the High Street to catch the Porty bus. It was a beautiful morning with the early sunshine picking out the topmost roofs and spires of the tall buildings. 
The beach was deserted, the tide high and the sea calm.  I was on my own, not even a lone jellyfish for company, swimming solo as daughter#1 was on her way to Cullen to visit friends. I did miss her company. 

It was the kind of morning that we have rarely seen this summer. Apart from a cloudy blip mid morning, the sunshine has lasted. It feels so  warm sitting in the sun but the temperature falls dramatically the minute a cloud passes. I was going to go for a walk after lunch but reneged on that for an afternoon on the patio with Wimbledon burbling on as background sound. I may have even snoozed for 10seconds. My standards are definitely slipping.
