Terrific Tuesday
It was sunny at 8am as it often is and then it wasn’t sunny as it often is but perked up at 12 for 3 hours until I made myself comfortable in the garden when it clouded over. That’s the position as I type but there’s little wind and it’s warm - a blessing on both counts. Oh and I’ve forgotten the blessing of a lovely high tide to go with the sunshine at 8am
PennySelkie came to me in her lunch break and joined the band of a ‘lady who lunches’. We had a very convivial hour and a half chatting about this, that and t’other, even managing to touch on Nicola Sturgeon and Boris Johnson in the same breath - a hilarious moment !
She brought me nectarines from her poly croo (an Orkney poly tunnel, don’t you know!) and 4 plums. Maybe the latter didn’t come from the croo but the co-op as I can’t remember seeing a plum tree. I must ask but they were ripe and lovely. I’m saving the nectarines for my dessert tonight. Thank you Penny!
I asked the man from OpenReach up the telegraph pole in the garden ( once he was back on terra firma) what he was doing and was he not scared climbing up that thing.
He said he was checking the pole wasn’t rotten and no he wasn’t scared. Too bad if it had been rotten. It would have been more than the end of the conversation.
