A Stroll Around the Campground
We were awake before 6 so we got up. Hubby always says we can sleep when we are dead. The noisy partying neighbors left early. We stayed at the campground all day, just enjoying the peace and tranquility. I read a lot of your journals and hope to finish them this evening. Sometimes I simply cannot stay awake while reading them. I decided to take a walk around the perimeter and take in the sights. You can see the results above. There are tons of birds but none really cooperated. I used the blue jay shot, fuzzy though it is, just to remind me how many varieties there were. We had a pileated woodpecker on the dead tree across from us and other woodies as well but I could not identify them. There were cardinals, robins, a heron, gray catbirds plus some in the forest whose song I did not recognize. Neither took advantage of the seeds we put on the picnic table. We have a stream that runs along the campground. There is also a pond in one corner. The tiny yellow flowers are creeping Jenny, a new wildflower for me. The owners have planted day lilies throughout the park. Not sure what the pink shrub is in front of the miniature butterfly bushes. Finished off the collage using the two solar lights/chimes from Jamie’s family. We had a short but torrential downpour a bit ago. There is more rain and thunder on the way. Hubby will grill burgers when the storm completely passes. Mancil and Madi were in the Outer Banks last week with her family. While shopping, they found a cute t-shirt for my mother. I’m including their visit to deliver the gift in my extras. They took her a bowl of her favorite Panera soup and showed her photos from their trip. She was quite happy. I hope you had an event today that pleased you as much. Stay safe. Thanks for dropping by. “There is a serene and settled majesty to woodland scenery that enters into the soul and delights and elevates it, and fills it with noble inclinations.” - Washington Irving
