Lanternfly Beetle
We had a much needed quiet day. First, I want to update you on a few past events. The lacrosse player who was struck in the chest bruised his lung but has had no additional problems. Thank you Lord. I will check with Parker to see how he made out at work. Hopefully they have inside jobs this week. Jamie brought all our bed linens so we have been well supplied. I think that’s all the “old business”. We had a minor storm last night but it didn’t cool the atmosphere much. We had breakfast outside and read/looked at your journals until lunch time. These horrible beetles started landing all around us. This one was on hubby’s back. He wasn’t thrilled with me letting it crawl on him while I got my blip. We’ve seen 9 so far. They are very harmful to agriculture and nature in general. This one happens to be the fourth stage beetle but we saw younger ones. We reported our sighting to the Maryland Department of Agriculture as folks have been asked to do. Hubby took a stroll around the Exchange store but only bought a roll of packing tape and a clip to keep my hair up. We moved inside when the heat index reached 103°F. I will read more and probably take a nap; I’ll publish this early. Hubby is working crossword puzzles. We are expecting rain later today. We’ll probably start packing up then. There is no rush; checkout is 11:00 am tomorrow. Hubby is grilling steaks and I will make baked potato and salad. We will have leftovers for tomorrow’s dinner after the ride home and unpacking. It would have been my parent’s 75 wedding anniversary on 1 July. I doubt Momma will even be aware. She has stopped remembering events. We will be home until 13 July when we’ll camp again until 22 July. I have some key doctor appointments before then and am trying not to worry unnecessarily. Wishing you a worry-free week. Stay safe.
