Eton Mess?

Today we went to the Oval again for cricket and this time I had managed to book lunch in the new 175 restaurant which only opened in 2020. Called 175 as it opened 175 years after the Club was formed in 1845.
It was a three course set menu and this was the Eton Mess dessert!  We were told by a waiter that it was a deconstructed version…….it also had lemon curd instead of cream. Tasted fine but I think I would prefer the traditional version!
The food was pleasant but I don’t think it will be getting any Michelin stars and Im not sure we would go again. I was not excited by any of the choices and was amazed to hear that the menu is identical for all four days of this match.
It was interesting to see the many young people who were employed as waiting staff who were clearly inexperienced and we found out that for many it was their first day working there. Our waitress was very smiley and pleasant but was struggling with entering the orders on her iPad like tablet..
