Black Swallowtail
Another day of visiting butterflies. This gorgeous black swallowtail was hanging around the buddleia for hours. He was accompanied by 3 peck's skippers, an occasional silver spotted skipper , and earlier in the day a monarch on the other bush. Theusual assortment of cabbage whites abounded as well as an Eastern Tailed Blue that I could not seem to get a clear photo of, but it's in extras anyway. The hummers were less active today though the male finally posed in sunlight. Also in extras isa wasp I have not run across before. SEEK says it is a hump backed beewolf.apparently it is a species of bee hunting wasp. not sure I like that around!
For those of you who were concerned for Sirius : his temp is down , his GI sx have resolved and we took him home tonight on several more days of antibiotics. He is a little off but did eat well so I am quite relieved and thankful the emergency vet could see him. Thanks for all your thought and concern!
