Fruits of Our Labors
Kitties woke us up before 6 am. Hubby turned on the coffee so that meant it was time to start our day. I managed to stay on the recliner a few more minutes (since Hubby has the master BR during his quarantine). We both headed outside after breakfast. Hubby finished the vinyl fencing. I weeded and trimmed shrubs/trees in the gardens around our sheds and along the woods line. There were two full containers of branches and weeds to show for my day’s work. My sister and BIL gave hubby this handy dandy hand saw. Even with my pitiful strength, I easily cut off branches. Everyone should have one of these! We showered the dirt and grime off and had lunch. Later, I weeded more of the garden in front of our home. Hubby set up two of our fountains and I moved the hanging baskets from the garden. He threw away my yard waste and picked up all our tools. It feels so rewarding to see the fruits of our labor, three shots shared here. We have deep pink and purple spiderwort and this pale pink azalea in bloom at the moment. Of course, yard work is never completely finished. We’ll get back at it tomorrow morning but the weekend is going to be unbearably warm. Mack has her chorus concert tonight; my evening activity is planned. Hubby is not attending but may ride his bike later when it cools up a bit. Hope you found your day as rewarding. We have not seen nor heard news from the war today. Hubby read last night that Putin says the Ukrainian soldiers who surrendered “will be tried and executed.” Why have a trial if the verdict has already been reached? What more must he do before someone can stop him? Stay safe folks. Thanks for your visit, stars and comments. “In the spring, at the end of the day, you should smell like dirt.” – Margaret Atwood
