Take a ticket for a journey....
You would not think, to look at these smiley, happy, faces, that I had a broken leg.
But I did. (not the same as Drama Queens), but broken all the same.
We woke after a lovely night's sleep and had a lovely breakfast. A Lovely Waiting Room lady recognized my need for tea and made me three pots. One after the other.
Then we commenced a walk into town. We had maybe walked about 600 yards, and I turned to speak to himself... and whack. Shooting pain like my calf being ripped from my leg. I tried to put my foot down. Agony. Tried again. I leaned on a bollard until Himself caught up with me, and I said "I can't walk.. my foot just broke".
Hanging on to him, I was able to get to the bus stop and we figured sitting down and not walking the two miles into town would help.
Got off the bus. Still unable to walk.
We stood for a moment, till I felt able to embrace the pain.
And then Tooli took off at pace, to show us something special.
She wound us down little lanes (with me dragging a leg behind) and then after several twists and turns, lifted our heads to see the Radcliffe Camera and Bodleian Library. Wow, these buildings are something to behold.
This was where Matriculation and the Parade take place. The "official" one was canceled this year because of Covid - but the students had turned out - see extra reported last Autumn (with Tooli Right and centre.) She will point out - she was only with her bubble and there were 2 metres between them and the next crowd.
After wandering these "discovery of witches" scenes, we clambered aboard a Tour bus. I do enjoy a tour bus. Traffic was quite bad, and it was warm, so after 30 minutes we were all dozing.
We climbed off and headed for food. Big clap to the NHS England COVID App, which, unlike the Scottish system (every place appears to have its own check-in app) this was seems to work.
We sat inside for a little shade, ate our fill, and decided again, on a nap before dinner.
Tonight's dinner venue was Angel and Greyhound. Our highlight was recognizing a dog visiting the venue who had featured in their web page adverts :-D The food was lovely, the passing pedestrians amazing.
And then we headed off to bed again. in a taxi, because my leg was still hurting. I told himself to suffocate me.
