Every little thing that you do....
Today was a great day.
I woke up, and my leg was fixed.
The broken leg had gone.
We had a lovely breakfast - three pots of tea. Waitress service.
Tooli walked along the riverside to meet us, and we boarded the car for Blenheim. We weren't sure what to expect, but we thought we'd give it a go because it had a MAZE.
Oh my goodness. The sheer whooop as we drove in the gateway. Heavens above, this was not your run of the mill country house. oh no.
Then it got better. There was a FLOWER show on. Not only was there a flower show, but there were about a million tents full of people selling things, like fudge, and cheese, and garden ornaments, and jackets, and skirts, and jam, and whisky.
We parked the car, got sanitised and were allowed in.
First tent.... Cheese. Chutney. I spied a tent with Mobility scooters. No walking sticks. What I did have was an underbrella which served beautifully as walking stick.
We stopped after about an hour and headed for the palace itself. Because Apparently, THAT was where the Maze was.
The ladies at the door told us to walk through the main quad and turn left. and keep walking and we would get there.
But we walked through the palace quadrant and there in front of us was the formal gardens. - fountains, statues, grass which we were not allowed to stand on... but oh it was beautiful.
After twenty minutes, we were back at the front of the palace. and had to walk back towards the way we came, for about 45 minutes. And then turn right for another thirty minutes.
And then we found it.
And they didn't know the rules. (Himself and Tooli) They set off at great speed and then shouted at me from the bridges. Pft. Don't they know - Right hand on the hedge at all times. Guarantees exit.
Maze done, We did Pizza. More check-ins, more table app ordering. is exhausting.
After we left Pizza place we caught the miniature train - it saved us quite a bit of a walk.
Back to car, back home - for a snooze before the evening event.
For my birthday in April - Tooli sent me tickets for a sale along the Thames.
This was it.
As Tooli and I had napped together in the late afternoon - we all got the same taxi. Dropped off at the beautiful bar from where the boat would leave and then descended, checked in, sanitized, and order our drinks.
All onboard... - three other parties all socially distanced, and off we went. Oh it was so lovely. Dreaming Spires indeedy. Flat calm water, warmth in the air, rose wine, prosecco, and beer to hand... all was luffly.
We were delighted to sail up past Christchurch College's Boat house - from where Tooli rows. I just wish I'd got to see her in a boat.
There were teams rowing up the river as we sailed. It was all very lovely.
Then we were back, and off we were walking again.
Up to Dirty Bones. for some dirty bones. This time we scanned, and sanitised, but it was waiter service, and it was so lovely!
We ate and drunk, and got quite tipsy.
A perfect day.
PS = 12560 Steps on a post-broken leg.
