Sally Mair - Loving life

What everyone wants

Another lovely day, the wind has moved to E NE so it was a bit cooler but no bad thing for that. I went for a walk first thing then two online church services, my own followed by the provincial Eucharist from Aberdeen and Shetland. I rather like this travel around the dioceses. I managed to organise it so that the service was on our TV rather than my ipad which was rather nice as some of the images of Shetlands were stunning.
After that it was out into the garden. I didn't do much else before lunch but after, I went round the lawn edging and weeding, it looks so much better afterwards. I continued to alternate between pottering and reading my book.
We had dinner outside again for the fourth night in a row, so nice to be able to do that. We're using my sister's garden table which is nice as I think of her every time I sit down.
This evening we went out for a walk and then settled down to watch Killing Eve. We're still on the second series so a bit of catching up to do yet.
I was slightly annoyed by a very misleading headline in the Sunday Times which I saw online. It stated that Scotland had one of the highest Covid death rates above seasonal norms in Europe. It then said, in smaller print, that the rate was less than that of the UK as a whole and lower than that in England. It was extremely political and seemed to focus mainly on running down the way the FM was running things and suggested that she was buying popularity!!! It seemed to fudge over the fact that much of the time scale was dictated by Westminster in the first place and that when you read it carefully, the way the figures were calculated seemed to be rather skewed.
I can't be bothered with the dirty politics that seem to be the norm these days. I'm happy we're taking things slowly and I hope that in two weeks time, the figures show that people have, by and large, been sensible, stayed safe and so we can confine to move forward slowly.
Thank you for dropping in and sorry for the rant.
