Warming the jars
The rhubarb that I received 10 days ago has been made into chutney. I got some extra on my Tesco’s order last week so that I had enough for a 2lb batch of chutney and a crumble last weekend.
The delay in making was due to the fact that I only had one ring left for the Kilner jars. I had to order replacements on line, which arrived yesterday. Getting things on line is handy but you have to be careful where stuff comes from otherwise it can take months. These came from Bristol !!!
Amber was intrigued as the smell of the chutney was new to her, you can see her reflection in the oven door.
I have attached a copy of the recipe in extras for anyone who has spare rhubarb and want to try out the chutney. We enjoy it with oatcakes or crackers and cheese. The 2lbs quantity produced 6 jars, not a lot, so I will try to do another batch.
The weather was a bit better today, but the clear blue sky this late afternoon is an indication of a really cold night. The beanie will be a necessity for bedtime!!!
