London Day 4
A day that shows our eclectic tastes.
We started with a morning of Rugby. Well, Gordon did, I sat in the very comfortable, and always fascinating, entrance hall of the Premier Inn, Kings Cross - super seating, coffee on hand and people of all nationalities coming and going - great for reading and people watching.
Then we headed down to the Southbank Centre. A wander by the River and a browse amongst the books. Then we were in the Royal Festival Hall for a concert by the Philarmonia Orchestra - Brahms, Mozart and Mendelssohn - all brilliant. Across to the Purcell Room and a conversation between the recent Booker Prize Winner Bernadine Evaristo and another writer Jennifer Nansubuga Makumbi - impressive ladies and fascinating to listen to.
Down to Brasserie Blanc for a lovely meal and then back onto Waterloo Bridge for a bus back.
