Blipping the Blipper

Unfortunately my cold has come out in full force, and I felt pretty groggy this morning after the Night Nurse - at least I slept though!  Anyway, after a slow start to the morning, I felt fine when Tamzin and Bella came to pick me up.

We'd arranged to go the poppy fields at Sompting, but not knowing where they were, I needed to check the directions with my friends who had already been, and I was told to go to Sompting, turn right at the traffic lights and we'd see it.  Well, I wasn't sure which traffic lights they meant, but we turned right at the first set although I didn't think it was right as we couldn't see the field, but then all of sudden there it was, in front of us - a big hill of red!

We parked up and walked into the field, it was absolutely amazing, and probably better than last years!  Sadly lots of people have already been there, and have trampled on a lot of the poppies which is such a shame as there's no need to do that.  We just followed tracks that were already there, and only took photos in areas that were already flattened.  My blip today had to be of the Blipper, blipping the Blipper!

We then headed back to Saltdean and went to the Whitecliffs Cafe for a drink and a bite to eat, and Alan rode down on Betsy to join us for a coffee in his lunch hour.  Then when he went back, we went down to the beach for an hour.  Bella had great fun digging in the pebbles and running in and out of the rock pools as the tide was out, then before they went home, Bella came to have a play with the boys in our garden - they were very pleased to see her!

Tonight we walked back down to the Whitecliffs Cafe for a drink, and Xena met us as she'd just got back from a school trip to the Seven Sisters.  I'd sent her a text to let her know where we were going, and she'd just got off the bus on the coast road, so although we hadn't planned it, it was perfect timing.

Her first week has gone well and she's the perfect house guest - she's very tidy and eats everything I put in front of her!
