Can't... Quite... Reach...!

Tough call which shot to go with for today's Wild Wednesday (thinks, is WildWed still in fact a thing currently?). There was the most fabulous and huge bracket fungus in the woods, a proud peacock and a painted hare complete with colour coordinated artist (!) but in the end it's this fellow.

This is a Bracken Chafer, and while there was indeed plenty of bracken around at Newark Park today he was on this tall plant, which I can't currently name. Walking along the fronds, sipping from the nectar in the tiny flower heads, he came to the end and got suddenly confused. To fly, or to leap, or simply hang on and wait for the fates to intervene.

The hare, in the extra, is from the Cotswold Hare Trail, and when I complimented the lady stood nearby taking photo's of it for her colour coordination, she admitted she was the artist behind this hare called ExtraordinHare.
