Perhaps it looks as if I’m nowhere near the top, but believe me there’s a lot more behind me. Sheol and I managed about three quarters of the climb up to The Stoor, and perhaps Sheol could have gone on a bit further...

But considering we were both dressed for motorcycling rather than hill climbing, perhaps too it’s just as well we didn’t. I understand helicopter rescues are not cheap...

The climb is about 250m over 1000m, up rough and rocky tracks and squishy bog. It’s worth noting this is not The Old Man of Stoer, which is a different thing altogether.
