Yewbarrow House

Today's the day .............................. for an Open Garden

I think this is a bronze statue of Joanna, the eldest daughter of Jonathan and Margaret Denby, owners of Yewbarrow House in Grange-over-Sands, Cumbria.

They have created a wonderfully, imaginative garden since they bought the house in the autumn of 1999.  You are likely to come across something quirky that makes you smile - or gasp in amazement - at every turn. From the Japanese Garden with its infinity pool, the Palm House, the Sculpture Garden to the Italian Terrace, there are a great variety of different settings in what is really not that big an area - about 2 acres.  I loved the leopard in the Euphorbias (see extras)

It is a superb location for any house - on a limestone outcrop overlooking Morecambe Bay - and the views from everywhere are stunning.  Will was happy painting the house.  I've included another extra of what he was looking at ..............................
