Stump

I've been observing from a distance the ongoing felling of lots of mature healthy trees in the streets of Sheffield - this forlorn stump in Gayfield Square reminded me of some of the images. Although this one maybe has to go because it's nae well, or was so big that it was shading other trees. Don't think it was an elm, as any with Dutch Elm disease get a painted orange cross and get taken down sharpish.

Oh, just remembered the tree map! According to which, this was a sycamore. Thanks for your beauty through the years, dear Acer pseudoplatanus.
