Forsythia

Every year, in the depths of winter, we pick a twig or two from the forsythia at the allotment and every year the buds open out into their vibrant yellow flowers - and yet, I am always surprised! (Attention span of a goldfish, ect ect.....). D must have picked the bare twig a day or two after Xmas , so it's taken a couple of weeks to open up.
