Showery. sunny, smelly Sunday

Slept like a log.....got up to bright sunshine, with blue sky and big black clouds!!

We tried to time it right to pop out for the papers, bad decision.....no sooner left than the heavens opened. Fortunately we had a big golf brolly for protection....although my feet didnt thank me for the sandals i had put on :-/
By the time we came out of the shop it was bright unshine again so we walked home the longer route.

A coffee and the papers sat in the garden for an hour, a bit of pottering and seedng, then time for eggs and soldiers ;-)

Later we walked down to the farm for some more eggs......where I spotted this wild garlic beneath the fence.......pretty and pungent!

I watched my team on tv..yet another dismal performance. We wont win any european cup final playing like that!

Another Tom Kerridge recipe provided dinner, cider & thyme poached chicken, with sauted savoy cabbage with mustard seeds, sage, bacon lardons, using some of the liquor from the poached chicken to make a gravy. Accompanied by homemade appleslaw :-)
Quite a lot of faffing, but nice :-)

We are off for a couple of days in the Cotswolds shortly........pity the weather forecast is pants :-(
