Row your boat

Such a beautiful morning, so we took an impromptu drive out, up to the Lake District.....and as much as I like to take part in mono Monday, the theme being impromptu today, I couldnt bring myself to convert this colourful scene!

We had an easy trip both north and south, Monday is definitely a good day for a visit.

A lovely walk to the Wateredge Inn.....where we had a pitstop, for a coffee and we shared a blueberry scone, which was to die for!

We walked around the edge of the lake, through the park, across the cow field, and the sheep field, across the bridge over the river, followed the lane until we reached the centre of Ambleside.

A wander around the shops, we resisted buying anything! We found a lovely little cafe down one of the side streets, where we stopped for lunch. Hub had a seafood sandwich and I had haddock, crab, pea and mint croquettes, with a side salad....all very yummy! Whilst we were eating, we heard the roar of a jet somewhere close by, typical!!

We walked the same route back, taking time to sit a while just looking out across the lake, it was so lovely in the sunshine, a really pleasant 19/20 degrees or thereabouts.

I took lots of photos during our 7 mile walk (!! hubs knee held up well again!) this being the very last one funnily enough......I just like the line up of the row boats :-)

Just before we got back to the car, we called into a garden centre and picked up a couple of little plants, a gentian and a lithodora, both bright blue, to replace the lithodora we lost, some silly b*g*r cut it back too hard :-/

We had plenty of watering to do in the greenhouse, garden and for our neighbours nextdoor when we got back home.

After downloading my images, weve had a light tea, goats cheese with figs & honey for me, hub has had cheese and biscuits.

Think we will sleep well tonight ;-). More of the same tomorrow hopefully :-)
