Passing Trabroun

His Lordship wishes it be known that the good wishes extended to him through these pages on his birthday yesterday from all of you, almost brought a tear to is eye.

He was so moved by it all, that he came out from behind his door and spent the afternoon enjoying the company of the assembled children and grandchildren, while he quaffed wine and applauded the football skills of two 6 year olds, a four year old and a 32 year old.
The football was played after the rain conveniently stopped, on the clover field masquerading as a lawn in front of the Dower House.

Indeed such was the success of the afternoon that the £10 meal for 2 from M&S was relegated to the fridge for consumption tonight, and we went to the new Malaysian restaurant for a cosy meal a deux.

Today with his new birthday Carradice saddlebag in place, we went for a spin on the bikes through the quiet lanes of East Lothian.
It was such a relief to leave the heaving mobs and cars choking the city centre and pedal on quiet roads between high hedges of hawthorn and rose hips.

Now home, His Lordship has polished off the last two slices of birthday cake and I will think about cooking our M&S dinner, but not before I've finished reading the Sunday papers.
