Devotion

We attended two Processions today: one full of pageantry and drama, one more somber and subdued. The afternoon Procession was put on by a smaller, poorer church. It seemed as if every member of the congregation was part of the Procession, it extended for blocks and was full of participants who were moved by the experience. Their faces expressed their feelings which became more visible as the light became more and more dramatic. This shot looks like it could have been done in a studio, but was captured on the street surrounded by thousands of onlookers.
