Phew

Well, last night I had a minor panic thinking things might be kicking off, thankfully I decided it was just major braxtons thanks to the sweep!! It didn't help that I was also dealing with a hypo that took a long time to get out of, and putting Ben back to bed, and the pain.... turned into a very late bedtime.

But this morning as nothing did happen in the end we decided to risk it and head off to Ikea. Ben needed a mattress for his new bed, and we needed a few other bits and pieces, so off we headed. Despite being tired from the late night we managed to get away by just after 10am and Ben even had a sleep in the car on the way!

Amazingly we managed a full day at Ikea with no mishaps, no arguments, no waters breaking (phew - a tiny tiny tiny part of me is a bit sad about that, but the rest of me is utterly grateful because I would have died of embarrassment....!), no spills, and only one thing on the list not in stock. That's not bad going! Ben had a great time investigating almost every single show room, making pretend cups of tea, pulling up stools and cooking on the big cookers, trying out the beds, pulling up another stool and testing out all the sinks in the bathroom section, and LOVING (of course) the kids section.

Of COURSE we had meatballs for lunch, and Ben had chocolate mousse and chips. Together. I'm sure it was a yummy combination!

It was fun loading the car - thankfully the sofa we bought is a fairly light weight one and I was actually able to help get it onto the roof bars without straining myself. (It was actually less effort helping Steve do that than it was pushing the trolley around. H said she'd managed to pull a muscle in her bump going round Ikea and after pushing the trolley round I'm not surprised to be honest, it was hard work - but worth it just for the constant availability of something to lean on when needed.) Ben had another sleep on the way home (and so did I - I definitely remember nodding, and the journey was certainly shorter!) and we decided to stop off at services for tea. I'm glad we didn't just have burgers and chips but went to the cafe after as well for tea and coffee and hot chocolate and cake and biscuit. Ben was happy! He drank a WHOLE hot chocolate and hasn't been for a wee yet. He is going to be BURSTING by the time we go up to bed.

Steve has managed to restrain himself for a whole TWO HOURS since getting home before ripping open some packaging and starting to put things together, I'm actually quite stunned!

Tomorrow afternoon the plan is to paint our bedroom ceiling, dismantle Ben's cot (with his help!), and paint Ben's ceiling. I think that's do-able, if we don't spend all afternoon putting flatpack together ;0)
