I've always loved walking. I decided to put it to good use, to give something back to research, after my father was diagnosed with prostate cancer in 2007. I hope that my efforts have helped to further research into cancer. He sadly lost his battle in January 2011.
I walk to raise money for Cancer Research UK, to see what I've never seen before and to take lots of photos.
Mum to two amazon daughters, wife and long distance walker, both trail, marathon and ultramarathons.
I started with a 5 km Race for Life event after my late father was diagnosed with prostate cancer. I enjoyed it and worked my way up to bigger challenges.
Thus far, I have walked the whole 84 miles of Hadrian's Wall, 147 miles of the Viking Way, three full London Shine marathons; last one dressed as Wonder Woman and the hardest yet, London to Brighton 100km challenge in just over a day.
They say that you get crazier as you hit mid-life crisis. Well, I hit fifty this year and am in training for a Tough Mudder event, just two days later. Crazy moi? Don't think so, bring it on, I feel twenty-six. I reckon life is to be lived not looked at.
