Fisherking

Full up feeling, food, glorious food.....

The Son and Heir and Miss H after Sunday lunch at our house. Full, watching the TV.

What a day! Rose at 6.30 for fishing, looked out of the window and what did I see?

Rain!!!

Today's match was supposed to be a Rover. A Rover is when we all meet at a pre-arranged time and draw numbers. Whoever gets 1 sets off and chooses his prefered peg, then number 2 and so on. Arrived at the car park for 7.30, five of us were there but no sign of Charlie and Sam, although Charlie's car was there.
We walked up to the water and what did we find? Charlie and Sam, or as they shall be known henceforth, Ronnie and Reggie sitting ready to start on the two best pegs. They refused to move so that was it! No match, just pleasure fishing.

Pleasure???? It persisted down solidly, everything got wet and we all bailed out at about 11.00. Charlie was the only one who'd caught so he tried to claim the match but the 5 of us told he and his partner in crime where to get off.

Spent the afternoon watching the Ryder Cup and helping prepare lunch, which wasn't being served until 5.30.

We decided against a starter and had Roast Pork with crackling, mashed potato, carrots, peas, parsnips, cabbage, cauliflower, gravy and Yorkshire puddings, followed by chocolate eclairs.

With one exception (me) the family are now settled in front of the TV, too stuffed to move. In about 10 minutes one of us might drag ourself into the kitchen and make some coffee.....or then again we might just all fall asleep.

Do I feel guilty about a lazy Sunday? Considering the weather and the fact that it's the first one in months, no I don't. Hope you all had the Sunday you wanted too.
