.....Through Autumn's Golden Gown.....

One leaf from one of our Japanese maples, turning from green to gold. Yep Autumn's here.

Quiz league game four tonight.....unbelievable...........another draw, another set of skewed questions........the draw salvaged in the last two rounds......every away team won tonight...... apart from our visitors....because they all elected to go first and got by far the easier set of questions. The providers of the quiz have employed some new question setters following from complaints last year...but this new lot are worse than last year.....considering that the questions are supposed to be in matched pairs to make it fair I would like the settters to explain to me the links between.....the Maori Rugby Union Team and an England rugby forward ( apart from the word rugby).....a poem especially written for tram crash in a soap opera and a film about the HIllsbororugh disaster..........or how a question about counties that for one team names the patron saint of the county (St.Pirren) and describes the county flag (a white cross on a black background) is equal to a question that just states that the county day is on August 1st.............or asks one team which island off the coast of England is a marine nature reserve (there are at least 36 islands off the coast) and asks the other team which welsh peninsula was the first coastal nature reserve (there are only two Welsh peninsulas). The answers are Cornwall and Yorkshire and Lundy and The Gower.

The quiz so far this year hasn't been a fair contest, and has been reduced to the luck of the away team in picking which set of questions to have........the away wins tonight and the fact that our visitors picked up only two bonuses from the questions we got wrong shows that one set of questions was much easier than the other.
