I've been driving in my car....

It's not quite a Jaguar.
In fact it's a Renault Scenic 1.6l, 16v Sport
It's the third one I've had in 10 years.

Number one had twin sun roofs which the kids thought was great, and a little fridge in the console which I thought was cool.(it was, it was a fridge!) It was green and was known to everyone at work as the Big Green Jelly Bean, so street cred out of the window again!

Number 2 was brand new, with automatic wipers, automatic lights and automatic handbrake (so no more handbrake turns, steet cred even further out of the window), no sunroof, keyless ignition and air con...and as demanded by the daughter (who was going through a bit of a Goth period) it was black, so steeet cred back up a bit. I also bought the personalised reg, only brand new car I've ever had and I didn't even get a new reg!!!

This one is silver, it has air con and a panoramic sunroof, six gears, keyless ignition, automatic handbrake and cruise control/speed limiter but I've taken back control of the lights and wipers! It's great to drive and not having to do anything but press a button to start it and drive off, and press a button to stop it and leave..... makes for real lazy driving. Mind you it spoils you for other cars, I've lost count of the times I've tried to drive off in the Boss's car with the handbrake still on, or parked it and left it with the handbrake off!!

We've had a couple of cars stolen over the years but always got them back, but they never feel right again. My Astra was stolen in Manchester, I reported it at midnight, got a taxi home and about 2.30 a.m. the Police arrived at the door.........Not to tell us they'd recovered the car but to arrest me!!!! The car had been used in a robbery in Blackpool and had escaped a police pursuit. Once I'd convinced them it had been stolen I was intrigued...what sort of robber would use his own car for the getaway?
Next morning we got a call from the Police in Southport. The car had been abandoned in a hotel car park and someone else's stolen to complete the getaway. When we got there the petrol cap was missing.....why?....because I'd left it so low on fuel the robbers had had to fill it up! So I got more petrol back than they started with!!!!

Oh, the tales I could tell about cars....like the time the Boss thought we were on fire on the motorway.....but I don't want to bore you to death....maybe another day.
