Fruit of Labor

These are Landon's little hands proudly displaying the grape tomato from his hanging tomato plant. He wanted the Topsy Turvy upside-down tomato planter for his 4th Birthday last year. Can't believe that was at the top of a 4 year old's wish list, but it was! Kristin got it for him and her mom, Holly, wrapped a huge tomato in a gift bag to go along with the Topsy Turvy. He was thrilled to receive it like it was the best 'toy' in the world! We put it out too late after his BD last summer to produce any 'harvest'...but I bought a plant a couple months ago that have produced a few grape tomatoes. He climbed on a chair on our front porch today to pick a ripe one. As you can see in the picture, his hands are still dirty from the front porch and are callused from much swinging on the monkey bars.

Worked in Landon's classroom today and this was his first full day of kindergarten, so he was a tired little boy. After working in the class, I took Scout to get his stitches out and he was a trooper...he actually wanted to stay at the vet. One of his paws healed over the stitches, so I'm hoping his body pushes the stitches out over time. In the evening I worked on homework with Landon at Liam's soccer practice. Afterwards, Loren kept Landon busy kicking the soccer ball around on the field.
