Long Way Home
After a day at Santa Ana College in Orange County learning about the new, soon to be released, Microsoft Office 2010, Mr. Fun came to give me a ride home. He had taken me there this morning and stayed for 90 minutes of the first session because he had an appointment-free schedule.
At the end of the afternoon we left that campus knowning the traffic moving toward the Inland Empire could be thick and slow like molasses. We decided on an early dinner in Orange County before tackling all that traffic.
At dinner Mr. Fun told me how his day was filled with "Bob dog" thoughts. When he'd left me at the workshop and went out to the car, he noticed all the shade trees and the places where he would have walked "Bobby" so he could pee. Mr. Fun drove away from there feeling down. Middle of the day he was out near our neighborhood and thought he needed to get home to take "Bobby" for a mid-day walk. So you guessed it, he was bummed again.
How can one 20-pound little blonde fur fall have our hearts so tangled? We don't know, but we're desiring to delight in the memories in spite of being bummed.
So this evening there was no one, no Bobby dog, waiting for us to get home, so we took the long way home and I thought of this song. Even though we did not kayak to home, it is still a lovely video song.
So many of you again left lovely encouraging comments yesterday. Thank you. Thanks for encouraging us through this moment.
So tomorrow I'll be back at Santa Ana College for more conference.
Good night from Southern California.
Rosie (& Mr. Fun), aka Carol
