Final Exam
Tomorrow is the final exam for the students in my basic writing course -- woohoo!
The exam is simply a proofreading exercise. They just mark the correct answer, from sentences like the sample below.
a) She doesn't lose her cool easily.
b) When my tutor came in, he ask me to do the fourth exercise.
a) I was suppose to call her, but I forgot.
b) I'm glad I chose this course, for I know it's helping me.
a) If you can't write well, you're at a disadvantage.
b) I worked until midnight, then I went to bed.
The quiz has 100 questions. It's not rocket science. They won't have to write an essay; they've already done that numerous times. When they've all completed it, I'll run their forms through the machine and each student will then have his or her results. After that I'll pass back their last graded writing project and they will be gone. I'll add each student's scores, get a total, and put the result on the final grade form . . . and the class will conclude. I am extremely tired; I know they are too. It's been a good semester. Even though I don't like grading papers, I love what I do.
I have a terrible burn on the side of my right hand -- the lid fell off the tea kettle as I was pouring the boiling water from it this evening. My hand feels like it is on fire. I won't be doing much commenting on other blips because of this.
Good night from Southern California.
