Carol: Rosie & Mr. Fun

The Color of Summer

Starting tomorrow afternoon and continuing through the summer my desk chair will be lavendar and much of my entertainment will be from these three 4-legged wonders, the two whales, and the defunct golf course behind our home that is now a lovely meadowland. I am going to try my darnest ;-) not to miss grading student essays during June, July, and August.

Tomorrow begins my summer with a rainbow of color as the entire faculty attired in their academic regalia applauds our students who have found the "Finish Line" -- what they think is an exit, and as I wrote last night, is really an entrance. I'm excited, too, because Mr. Fun has arranged his schedule so he can attend the morning commencement celebration and hopefully capture some photos for me and maybe even of me.

Thank YOU everyone for yesterday's comments. As soon as I posted last evening's Blip, I opened my email to find a meaningful essay from one of my re-entry students. I'm going to include it here so I will have it forever and ever:

"Hi Carol, Thank you so much for being a quality professor. I have gained a tremendous amount of knowledge from your course. I hope you have a wonderful summer. You deserve it! I love that you do not allow people to slide by. It definitely means something to the students who really want an education. Thank you again for preparing me for future success. ~~SW"

Good night from Southern California.
