Hanging by a thread

After making some ice cream to use up old lemons, I made some canapés for our book group lunch. Then there was time to orchestrate the decoration placement in the conservatory while Mr C did the actual work. As he had to pop in and out to fetch fresh greenery, he is wearing an old jumper which is now assigned to painting and gardening duties. When Ella sees him in it she tells him the bits of paint are "mucky patches" on it.

The lunch was very pleasant. However it reminded me of the walking group when few go on the walk but everybody turns up for the meal. In the book group about 5 read the chosen book and go to discuss it each month, whereas today all 12 were there for the lunch, book swap and book quiz. My partner and I have a tube of Smarties for being smarty pants by winning two years in a row. The pressure is on! I think I'll offer to write the quiz next year. Anybody got any ideas? Last year it was books with colours in the titles and this time we were given the author and the first initial of each word of the title. My little haul from the book swap is "Burmese Days" by George Orwell, (as I'm fancying going there), "Dear Life" by Alice Munro (I'd chosen another of her books for the group but haven't read this one), and "The Children's Room" by A S Byatt.

Then on to GP which resulted in me being referred to hospital for further heart tests. Fed up, but know it's best to get sorted. Mr C is worried our ski insurance will be through the roof if they confirm the suspected angina.
