Son and godson
An afternoon out with this pair is as good as any 6.30pm R4 comedy, which is about as high as praise gets around here.
Anna was having a birthday treat with her godmother. An outing into town which included a trip to Fortnums, the Burlington Arcade and culminated in tea at The Wolseley.
Slightly more downmarket I treated the boys to sweets and The Maze Runner at Westfield. Suitably scary but a very good film we all thought. In fact the boys were so taken as to describe it as better than the first Hunger Games movie. Though in the end we agreed it was a little unfair to pit them against each other as the links between the two are fairly superficial.
A little more full on a first day of the holidays than we had intended but very lovely all round.

(For mine (and their) memory this is just after the moment Jackson inadvertently called himself a dog. Along the lines of:
Me: that must be so high only dogs can hear it.
J: I heard it.
Me and C exchange a look and a smirk.
Quite a few beats later and the penny drops...the that in question being someone in the Guinness Book of Records being able to sing top C#, a semitone off the top of a piano).
