The life & times of Jacks

'Owling Around

The intention was to head into Newquay, the closest town, for a dongle but when we got there we decided to not bother and enjoy the lack of connectivity (not that I didn’t grasp at every little bit of 3G or wifi at other places I could when I had the chance). We did take a wander around Newquay and towards the coastline/ beach area it was really quite pretty. We then headed out to the Screech Owl Sanctuary nearby which had a lot of various species of owls that had either been rescued or previous owners had given up and the birds may not have survived in the wild. Owls really are beautiful birds. They flew this great grey owl called Voicy and he was such a cutie. We also saw some Alpacas they had rescued there. One of them was very interested in sniffing at Steve for a while I snapped a way. It was quite an amusing moment when Steve looked around at the Alpaca to see what he was doing and the Alpaca just gave him a look like “What?!”. Cute moment.

The next stop was Boscastle which was in a deep valley and our first (definitely not the last) cream tea of the holiday. I will miss my scones, tea and the clotted cream and jam. We also went to the Museum of Witchcraft there which I was a wee bit disappointed in but then I am not really sure what I was expecting after all.

Although we are only 3 days into our holidays I am very overwhelmed by how beautiful Cornwall is. And the weather has continued to be awesomely kind to us.
