The end of a very wet day
For the 1st May this was not a good day weatherwise. The forecast for the holiday weeekend is beeter thoough but cooler and with a threat of frost. Wow, one or two of the potatoes are poking their first leaves above the soil so I'll have to earth them up tomorrow just to be sure. Some people down on the allotment are at considerable risk if there is a frost as their potatoes are well up and they've planted out beans and courgettes. A bit to early I think. One chap was earthing his spuds up the other day and someone observed that it looked as if he was building the Pennines on his plot.
Spent most of the morning working on the Prison contract, not sure to what effect as the more I get in to it the more I think that my small task is part of a larger issue which also needs to be tackled. For example, it seems like all the institutions have intereactive whiteboards but are not using them to their best advantage, just as an electronic blackboard, yet the software which runs the boards has a tremendous range of tools and resources which can be used to create and share teaching materials.
Today's shot was taken between downfalls of heavy rain when I was casting about for a subject. Continuing to read Tom Ang's book and picking up a few hints. Not easy going mind you. I think one of his other books might be a better place to start, fortunately Susan has ordered it from the Library, so when it comes we'll be able to see.
Finished the day with a walk around Mote Park. Part of the walk was flooded again. A problem there that needs to be fixed. We've gone on about it so much and done nothing so I left a comment on the Park's FaceBook page when we got back.
