Allotment Update

A good day at the allotment today. Lovely weather for gardening. The signs of spring are bursting out all over.

Spend the morning clearing and weeding. Edging the beds, getting rid of long grass and so on. After lunch planted 4 rows of potatoes and some onions and cleared most of the brassica bed. Took home some rhurarb, purple sprouting broccoli and the last of the leeks.

It's looking good now, but still plenty to do, getting in the beetroot, parsnip and carrots in the allotment and sowing courgettes, cucumbers and squash at home ready to plant out. Tomatoes doing really well and ready for their big pots now.

See how the allotment has developed (or not) in the last 2 months, by looking at the March shot and the April shot.
