Cruel Spring. GX1, Leitz Summicron 50mm DR

These poor young plants tentatively stuck their heads up out of the earth to find a fresh sprinkling of snow from last night - on April 16. Two days ago the temperature was in the mid-70s and the air quite humid. Welcome to New England!
For today's Blip I used a Leitz lens offered from 1956-1968. Mine is from 1958. It incorporates an ingenious mechanism which allows for a close-up range down to about 17 inches. The "DR" signifies "Dual Range". I experimented and discovered that I can use this capability on the GX1. The lens has a 10-blade aperture diaphragm and this refinement is visible as round (rather than faceted) out-of-focus highlights. Compare with my Blip from April 8th: here the highlights are distinctly hexagonal in shape.
