Mosaics. GX1, BOOWU, Leitz Summar 50mm.
Predictably enough, today's Blip is an image created with the BOOWU. Some years ago, my wife and I traveled to the ancient town of Tivoli (Tibur) in the mountains northeast of Rome. This is where the Emperor Adrianus, in around 1030 C.E., chose to build a retreat for himself from the intrigues of the Roman Capitol. Adrianus is "Hadrian"when it comes to the Wall in the north of England.
The hotel in which we stayed had its bathroom decorated with mosaics executed in the Roman style. The effect was so beautiful that we vowed we would have our own bathroom decorated with Roman mosaics one day.
It would have cost a fortune to go the whole hog, so we have just a "tip-of-the-hat" version. Here is a detail of the hand-assembled pattern set into the tiled floor. Very easy: I just set the BOOWU on the floor and pressed the shutter. Not bad for a 1937 vintage uncoated lens.
