A Day Around Water

We went out to the ocean today. Trouble was...we didn't set out until 15 minutes after noon. Along with a lot of other people. With only 2 drawbridges leading to the island...it took us 40 minutes to go the last 5 miles. As my grandson Merrick says..."That's not good."

Uncle Jeff dug Merrick a huge hole in the sand. It was so deep that they struck water...giving them a good spot to cool off their feet.

In the meantime...I was building a small "drip" castle. Very wet sand...dripped out of the hand. Messy, but fun. Since it was Merrick's last full day in Florida...I decided to let him demolish the sand castle. He didn't quite get the concept...making 10 runs at it, instead of one. But, he eventually knocked it all down.

We ended up at the pool. Don't tell anybody...but it's not so much to swim...as it is to wash away all the sand from the beach. He jumped off the deck several times to his mother...then Uncle Jeff launched the little man into the air. Again...several times.

Check out Merrick the castle wrecker, and Merrick the pool jumper on my FLICKR PAGE.

A good Florida day...except for the traffic.

P.S. Merrick did have a bathing suit on, but when he went "potty" in the clubhouse...since we had the pool to ourselves...Momma left it off.
