"Capote"

"If I leave here without understanding you, the world will see you as a monster. Always. And I don't want that."

Why do all the greatest actors, singers and sports stars all die from drug abuse?!

I was watching The Wolf of Wall Street when this news broke last night and I must admit it hit me hard and initially thought it was a prank! Philip Seymour Hoffman may not have been a Hollywood heart throb but he was an incredibly talented actor! I will never forget his role in Capote that he won the Oscar for! It was a mind blowing performance! But then he could also turn his hand to romantic comedies like Along Came Polly with Ben Stiller - "let it rain!"

A massive loss to the film/theatre world....

It just goes to show that having fame, fortune and huge success still doesn't buy you your happiness....

The final title cards of the film Capote seem fitting here -

"His book 'In Cold Blood', made Truman Capote the most famous writer in America. He never finished another book. The epigraph he chose for his last, unfinished work reads, 'More tears are shed over answered prayers than unanswered ones.' He died in 1984 of complications due to alcoholism."

A little bit of life imitating art perhaps...?
