Winter Birds

Little Robin Redbreast
Came to visit me;
This is what he whistled,
Thank you for my tea.
Little Robin Redbreast
Sat upon a rail;
Niddle noble went his head,
Widdle waggle went his tail

My garden was full of birds today. I think they know the snow is coming and are trying to get what they can out of the soil before it’s covered up with the white stuff. We are expecting more snow by the end of the week. At one point, I saw ½ a dozen of these robins along with a male and female cardinal and a big blue jay all at the same time. I couldn’t get my camera fast enough! When I opened the window, it sounded like there was a chorus in my backyard! They stayed around for a quite a while too.

We are going to a friend’s house for dinner tonight to celebrate the New Year. I hope everyone has a nice evening whether you are going out or just staying in and enjoying the comforts of your own home. Here is to wishing 2014 is a happy and healthy year for us all!
