Happy New Year

The plan was to do nothing today. Just a nice relaxing day after the holidays spent sitting on the sofa. Anxiety got the better of me however and I was off to the mall to try and get a few last minute things for my upcoming trip to Mexico. Therefore, my blip today is of the mall. It wasn’t too crowded today at all. I’m sure many people are recovering from last night’s festivities.
I did get some great bargains and I feel better now that I’m more prepared for my trip. I am really trying to pack light and only bring what I will wear. Whenever I travel I seem to panic at the last minute and throw everything in the suitcase and it doesn’t make any sense. I end up with things I don’t even wear. You would think I would have this down to a science at this point of my life but I’m still learning.

We had a very nice evening last night having dinner with friends and toasting in the New Year at midnight. We turned on the TV to watch Times Square here in NYC and then watched all the previous celebrations around the world. Some of the fireworks were spectacular. Driving home at close to 2 a.m. there was so much traffic on the roads you would have thought it was the middle of the day. I’m glad everyone I know celebrated safely and had designated drivers or spent the night wherever they were. A special happy new year to all those friends and family who did the driving for their friends.
