Sprouting

For Christmas my son and his fiancé bought us a sprout making kit and enough seeds to last quite a while. So I thought I'd give it a try.
You basically just germinate the seeds to be eaten raw or cooked. The sprouted beans are supposed to be more nutritious than the original beans. Being rich in vitamins, minerals, proteins and enzymes, they can be grown easily in four to six days and require no effort and very little cost. When you compare that to food bought at the supermarket which begins to lose the nutrient content as soon as it's picked.
I love the idea of having a little 'garden' in my kitchen and as you can see from my Blip, it worked! I enjoyed some of these sprouts on my toast and hummus sandwich today and they were wonderful!
