Jaws!

Our friends Lorraine, Richard and Emily arrived this morning, but the weather was awful, so I'd planned a tapas style lunch at home. We had a nice catch up and by the time we'd finished eating, the rain had stopped and the sky started to clear, so we we drove down to the marina for a walk. Our waterproof camera arrived this morning so Alan tried it out, and the results are really good for a small compact camera. Rain is forecast for the next few days so I'm sure I'll get to use it.

Emily is only five, and can't walk very fast, so they brought her little scooter which was great as she quite happily scooted along the board walk. We stopped to look at the boats and this caught my eye - it's not often you see a Shark in Brighton, so it had to be today's blip.

When we got back from the Marina we took Louis for a walk down to the beach and watched the sun setting, and are now relaxing at home. Emily had a little sewing kit to make a jewellery box for Christmas, so her and Lorraine have been making. Emily was playing a game 'guess what's in my box' and was shaking it up and down asking us to guess what it was - I noticed that something was missing from one of our cabinets and asked if it was a little glass bottle. Lorraine opened the box and sure enough there was the little glass bottle that contains my dad's ashes! I laughed so much I had tears streaming down my face, but what's nice is that it would have appealed to my dad's sense of humour, so if he was watching I'm sure he'd have been laughing too!

Apologies if I don't manage to keep up with comments for the next couple of days while our friends are here, I'll catch up with you when I can.
