Weather for ducks!

After yesterday's lovely weather when I was in work, I was planning to get out into the forest this morning for a walk. Sadly it rained all through the night, and was still raining heavily this morning, so I didn't think we'd be going anywhere.

Then all of a sudden it got brighter and blue skies appeared so we quickly got ready, put on our waterproofs (just in case), and drove to the forest. Louis was very excited to be going out too, until he saw his coat, but once we got walking he was quite happy.

It was really pleasant and the sun was shining, so I took some nice shots with long shadows, but when we got to the lake we saw this lovely white duck. I took quite a few photos of him, but he was constantly on the move, so it was quite difficult to get him totally in focus. Alan said he liked this one, and thought the patterns and reflections on the water were particularly nice.

While we were down at the lake the wind suddenly built up, and the sky clouded over, so we decided to turn round and head back to the car. We managed to get part way and then the rain came!

Thankfully we'd gone prepared so were fine, but I can't say the same for Louis - even with his coat on he was totally black underneath, so as soon as we got home he had to go straight in the bath. He was not a happy chappy, but he's ok now, and curled up nice and cosy in his bed :-)
