Christmas eve!
Hyvää joulua! God jul! Merry christmas! Buon natale! Feliz navidad! Joyeux noel!
Finnish tradition for christmas is to enjoy, relax, eat well with close relatives or friends - however some of us like or are forced to spend a lonely xmas. Our tradition is quite normal; we spend christmas eve with our own family & grandparents, who are closest to teens. I quess our dinner is quite normal too: roasted ham, different kind of salads - one made from beetroot, potatoes, carrots and onion - smoked fish and salted fish, potatoes, different casseroles - rutabaga-, sweet potatoes-, liver- and carrot-casseroles - and some of us like karelian stew too, like my mum liked - but we do not ever do that in my family. However I would like paste of reindeer or moose, in christmas, but unfortunately I forgot to buy any. But this year we have some cool fish gelee just to test one recipe.
Of course the amount of food is not too big as the variety can be this big. We eat xmas food for three days.
The sauna warmed with wood is almost done and ready to bath. Time to eat and visit to the cemetery to remember the family members who are not with us any more.
Some more shots here, if you like to visit our xmas time... :)
