Away

The day after the official winter Solstice, and the sun is struggling to rise above the clouds, at an amazing distance south east of it's rising point in midsummer.

It feels really wintry and so cold as I stand outside to capture the last look of the view over the still quiet Meadows, before joining the masses of festive travellers at the airport and submitting to the indignities of 21st century air travel.

Will I have to remove my shoes, will I have to go through the walk through scanner twice , once with my bangle on just in case I don't have to remove it and then again when I have removed it and still have the inevitable pat down search? Will I, horror of horrors, have to open my case and have some plastic gloved hands search through my carefully folded clothes for the chance of finding some article which infringes the rules.

However our end destination in Budapest for Christmas with D77 is worth the hassle of travelling, even though it will stretch our patience almost to the point of a nervous breakdown.

I'll see you in another place tomorrow, far from my origins too.
