Patchwork Quilt

This is one I made earlier, much earlier for daughter #1, and blipped this morning when His Lordship and I saddled the reindeer and rode down to Holyrood to deliver her Christmas presents. With these offloaded, and leaving only the ones going to Budapest still to be delivered, involving a reindeer fly drive, we felt there was time for a coffee before finding a button shop for yet more buttons.

When did the most ordinary of buttons start costing 40p each? With 8 needed, I was in the mood to be miserly and very lucky to find some at 18p each. Now that to my mind is about right for plain understated buttons, don't you think?

With our minimalist packing for tomorrow done, I am looking forward to the final of Strictly tonight with the huge box of chocolates HL opened yesterday and which is playing on my mind - soft centres, plain and milk chocolate- what's not to like?

Meanwhile with the shortest day about to close its curtains, I am happy to sit peacefully with the lamps lit and wonder about what I could possibly have omitted from my case. But it is certainly not son #2's present to himself, a Play Station. Now when I was his age I had perforce put away childish things.....how times have changed!
