High and Dry

Today went down the Churchill Barriers to St Margaret's Hope and then on to see the Tomb of the Eagle. It was discovered by a farmer who reported to the archaeologist who had been working on other sites but he said it would be a big job to do. So the farmer went to visit other sites and found out how to excavate it himself as 18 years later nothing had been done. It is well worth a visit as they have a very interesting visitor centre and an interesting talk.

Afterwards we had a nice lunch in a bistro nearby. We also tried to see the stone called the Ladykirk stone, said to be a Pictish inauguration stone with the outline of two feet.
Unfortunately it was inside St Mary's church which was locked and surrounded by scafolding..

Saw this boat in St Margaret's Hope and its setting amused me.
