Seen better days

Today went round Orphir. Went to Waulkmill Bay and saw the unusual shapes left in the sands when the tide goes out, accompanied by a rainbow. Saw this cottage and like this photo so blipped it.

After going round Orphir, we headed for Stromness. Went to the museum, where we spent some time looking at the album of School photos for. school photos of myself and my two brothers and sister. The museum has been renovated fairly recently and has some very interesting displays including an area devoted to John Rae the explorer who went to the Arctic, there is also a statue that has been erected at the harbour in his memory. We also went round the Pier Gallery which has been extended.

We finally went to Warbeth beach which brought back many memories although the collie who used to chase after us when we went past his farm on our bikes, nipping at our ankles is no longer with us. We watched the sunset over Hoy.
